Red Lentils / Masoor Dal Khichidi

Ingredients

1/4 kg rice (1 glass)
2/3 cup Red lentil/masoor dal (1/4 glass)
1 tomato (medium size)
1 onion (medium size)
1 tablespoon oil
1 tablespoon ginger garlic paste
1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
2 teaspoons salt
4 cloves
2 cardamon
1 small piece cinamon
2 green chillies
1/4 cup coriander leafs
1/4 cup mint leafs

Method


  • Take rice in that add masoor dal, wash them well.
  • Now add 1 glass water and let them soak.
  • Heat a pressure cooker, in that add oil.
  • Add cloves, cardamon and cinamon.
  • Add chopped onions and fry till translucent.
  • Now 1/2 teaspoon salt mix well.
  • Add ginger garlic paste and fry for 1 minute.
  • Then add turmeric powder and tomatoes.
  • Now add green chillies, coriander and mint fry them.
  • Add 1/2 teaspoon salt and mix everyting well.
  • Now add 1 glass water and bring it to boil.
  • Add soaked rice mixture with water.
  • Add 1 teaspoon salt close lid and cook for 2 to 3 whistles.
  • After cooling down open lid mix khichidi once.
  • Thats it healthy khichidi is ready.

Note

Khichidi can also be made with ghee/clarified butter.
