Mango Pickle - Avakaya Recipe

Ingredients

2 cups diced raw mangoes
1 cup oil
1/2 cup salt
1/2 cup chilli powder
1/4 cup garlic cloves peeled

For powder

1 tablespoon fenugreek seeds
2 tablespoons mustard seeds


Method

  • Heat oil in a kadai and let the oil cool to room temperature.
  • Dry roast mustard and fenugreek seeds.
  • Grind them to a fine powder.
  • Wash mangoes, wipe them and dice into big pieces
  • Take one dry bowl to that add mango pieces.
  • Add salt, chilli powder and prepared powder.
  • Mix everything well.
  • Then add garlic and oil mix well.
  • Keep pickle closed for 2 days and mix once.
  • After 2 days pickle oozes oil.
  • Transfer pickle to the dry glass jar and have it after 7 days.
