Bagara Rice

Ingredients


Rice 1/2 kg or 2 glasses
Oil 2 tablespoon
Ghee/Clarified butter 2 teaspoons
Cashews 5 to 10
Cardamom 4
Cloves 4
Cinnamon 4 pieces
Onion 4
Tomatoes 4
Green chillies 4
Coriander chopped 1 cup
Mint leafs chopped 1 cup
Ginger garlic paste 2 tablespoons
Coconut paste 2 tablespoons
Salt 4 teaspoons
Water 4 glasses

Method

  •  Clean rice and then soak them with 1:2 ratio water.
  • Take a pressure cooker, in that add oil and ghee after that add all the whole spices fry them well.
  •  Now add sliced onions fry till golden.
  •  Then add ginger garlic paste fry it well.
  •  Add sliced tomatoes and green chillies cook till soft.
  •  Add coriander and mint leaves.
  • Add coconut paste and fry for 1 minute.
  •  Finally add soaked rice with water mix well.
  • Close lid and cook for 2 to 3 whistles.
  •  Open pressure cooker once pressure is reduced.
  •  Mix lightly make sure not to break the rice.
  • Serve hot with bagara biangan or kourma or raita...
